Transitioning into the Portfolio project
I have always wanted to be able to be apart of the producing of a coming-of-age film. So, when I was first introduced to the Portfolio project, I was excited to finally have an opportunity to motivate myself enough to film this. However, I never decided on what exactly I wanted to do. I watched many of coming-of-age films and did my best to find out what made them fall under this genre. By doing so, it was brought to my attention that these movies use a lot of raw and innocent emotions which I loved. Naturally, I wanted to bring the same to my film.
However, as I started to think about it, I'd only be filming a film opening. The film openings for coming-of-ages are not always dramatic at the start. While they can be, they usually just introduce characters and conflicts. To some, this isn't interesting enough as they want to be hooked by the start. So, I settled on filming a horror/mystery film opening that will grab people's attention while also being a form of entertainment.
