 My Editing Film Project

This film project was created using one word. For me and my partner, that word was concerned. Each group each got one word to create a short film related to it, but the clip had to be submitted with no sound attached. So, we would be able to closely pay attention to the camera shots/angles and the composition used in the 1:00-1:30 clip.

We first had to complete a quick 3-page storyboard to show how we might use our elements in our consecutive shots. This helped us brainstorm our layout and plot of our short film. We also used a shots/angles/composition storyboard sheet to see what elements we would use during our specific scenes. These both helped us figure out how we wanted to approach our scenes and what angles/shots we might want to use to do this. The picture below is of our shots/angles/composition storyboard sheet.

After this, we started to think of what to do when shooting the scenes. So, as we started to film, the storyboard sheets really helped us when figuring this out. We didn't shoot our scenes in order since we needed a classroom for some shots and that first day of filming was primarily to shoot all our hallway/walking shots. After that, we used two different classrooms to shoot the rest of our film. As we filmed over three consecutive days, we used Adobe Express to edit all of our film material to help put together our project. After that, we had completed our Editing Film Project.

Overall, I believe that our project was well done. The use of many shots and angles made the film look a lot better but I do believe we could've has better camera movement, as for some days we couldn't use the available equipment. We could've also had better storytelling for our specific word, as the story itself may have given the feel of anxiety or nervousness instead of our assigned word, concerned.
